Choir Tour (Day 2)

THURSDAY, APRIL 18th

We had the amazing opportunity to visit Arlington Cemetery and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier.  It rained for most of the time we were there, and even though we were super wet, it definitely added to the experience. :)

A friend of mine posted this on facebook:

"'Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.'

American was given life through the ultimate sacrifice, the last breath, of courageous men and women. Arlington holds many of these valiant souls in it's hallowed grounds.  As we visited the tomb of the unknown soldier, there was a quiet. A peace. A stillness. And heaven cried. As the rain gently fell, the birds sang praises not of the death of so many soldiers, but of the lives they led, and the lives they now live. We owe it to them to carry on the liberty that burned in their hearts, and to live in a way that shows our appreciation for them." (Tanner Livingston)

It was so amazing to be there because there is such an incredible spirit you feel as you walk through.

After walking through Arlington for a while, we headed to the Capitol building where Senator Lee generously provided lunch for all of us.  After eating lunch, we got an incredible tour of the Capitol - definitely a highlight of the trip. :)

After the amazing tour, we got another awesome tour of the Hart Senator Office, and got to walk through Senator Lee's office and sit in his desk. :) 

After that, we got to sing for Senator Lee as well as Orrin Hatch. It was way cool!! :D
