Photography

This past school year, I took a class called Digital Photography. It was really cool and I feel like I learned a lot. For instance, photography is a lot more technical than I thought it was. haha :) Here are some of my favorite pictures that I took (well, for two of them, I set it up, and my mom snapped it haha :)) during this class. I edited a few of them using Lightroom which was really fun to do. :D

IDENTITY

This photo has a special meaning behind it, even though most people wouldn't know the moment they looked at it.
I started keeping a regular journal about three years ago and it has been an amazing experience. Not to say that I write in it every single night without fail, because I don't, but I definitely write about those special, spiritual, fun, and exciting moments I experience. I love how the journal is the focus of the photo. I feel like my pose and the position of my hands portray the fact that I hold my journal very near and dear to my heart, as well as treating it as something very precious and valuable. This can be thought of in terms of life in general. You record moments of your life, and those moments, as well as your entire life, are precious, valuable, and irreplaceable. :)

Scriptures. They are incredible, one of the biggest blessings, and I know they are true without a doubt. :DSUPERHERO

Cameron. He is such an amazing brother and definitely a hero to those who know him. :D
(I just had to get a shot of him in an Avenger's t-shirt haha :))

Moab

Summer vacation!! Wahoo!! To kick off this amazing summer of 2013, my family and I went to Moab and spent a few days in Arches National Park! It was a blast!!

On the way there...we are all super excited even though the boys don't look like it. At all. haha :)

Before we actually went into Moab, we stopped at Dead Horse Point. It was SOO cool!! :D

My amazing parents :D In the exact spot my dad proposed to my mom (:

The first day in Moab, we went to Arches National Park and hiked to Delicate Arch!! I would have to say that this was my favorite arch, because you hike uphill for a long time (feels like forever when you are sick like I was :P), and then you come around a corner and there it is!! So big and so amazing!! :D

Yep, we look tiny, but that is my family and I!! :D haha

Cairn - the name of the piles of rocks that mark the trail (I think they look cool)

The next day we hiked around to several of the other arches. There are so many and they are all so unique and fascinating.

Landscape Arch

This was a tree we encountered along the way back from landscape arch.
As you can see, it has struggled, yet made its way as it has grown through and out of the rock which most likely took a very
long time. I snapped this picture of Brenden next to it, because this tree represents determination. And that is one of the many positive words I would use to describe my incredible brother. :)

A collage I made of our fantastic trip thanks to Instagram and PicStictch :)

 Thanks for reading!!
Have a ridiculously amazing day!! :D :D

Hide Your Love Away

Anthem Lights. Amazing, talented, attractive, and my new found love. haha :)
As I was listening to their songs, I came across this one. I would have to say that this is one of my top favorite songs of theirs, if not, my very favorite. (: You have to watch the video for the message behind the song, and then listen to it. It is amazing. :D

I promise you will love it because it is one of the cutest things ever. :)

I'm not afraid to say that I'm waiting.

Cavestock

With the ending of the school year, at my high school, that means it is time for Cavestock!! :D  I went with a few of my best friends and had a blast!! :) :)

Me, Emily, Jessica, Rachel and Breanna...all of us with our awesome moustaches...some on our fingers ;)

After the chalk throw...

Al Fox

Okay. So for those of you who haven't heard of Al Fox, you are missing
out BIG time! :D
She is an amazing convert to the church with an INCREDIBLE story.
On May 17th, I had a wonderful opportunity to go to one of her firesides with one of my best friends. I LOVED listening to her tell her conversion story and bear her testimony. And it definitely strengthened mine a great deal listening to hers. (:

A few thoughts...
True happiness comes from the gospel. ONLY the gospel. No where else.
Strength comes from the Book of Mormon. There is SO much strength in that book.
God works in His own time. Not in yours. Trust in it and trust in Him.
Choose to keep going. Choose to have faith. Choose to have trust. Choose God.
Just try. That is the only way you become better and become the person Heavenly Father wants you to be.
Hard times will always be there. Always. But so will Christ.
Forget not that you have a God. And not once will he leave you.
Forget not why you are here and what you should be doing.
What you do matters. What you do makes a difference.

Lots and lots of love, Brianna

Anthem Lights

I think I am in love. <3
I stumbled across this christian and gospel boy band and they are awesome and SO talented (quite attractive too, I might add ;) haha)

All of their music is amazing, but these are definitely my top favorites:
(These are covers of popular songs, but they also write their own music)

Awesome song with an amazing message! :)
Don't worry, heaven's got a plan for you. :D
You are loved, no mistake. You are perfectly made. (:

Thanks for watching and listening!! :D :D

Inspire My Life

At the beginning of May, I had the awesome opportunity to go to "Inspire My Life" for women in Salt Lake.  It was full of music and uplifting speakers. I loved it!! :D

Beyond 5...a cute boy band trying to make a name for themselves ;)

Charley Jenkins (with Tiann Dyer!!! :D :D)

I got to meet and talk to Jessie Funk!! It was basically the coolest thing EVER!!
She is sooo awesome!! :)

A few thoughts...
"When you strengthen women, you strengthen the world. We are all born brave."
It only takens one person to change your life - you.
Celebrate whenever you can, and for whatever you can.
Happiness is something you give from the inside.
Time is a gift. Use it wisely and find joy in the little things.
When we face challenges in life, we have two choices - to either give up and sink into despair or to turn it over to the Lord.

Awards ceremony dinner

Breanne, Me, Jess, and Breanna after we got back to the hotel

It was a little crazy, because we had to leave the dance early. People were starting to feel uncomfortable and the dancing was getting a little out of hand.  Thanks to Warby, she got us out of their in no time. :) It was quite a shock to see how big of an issue immodesty was as I observed the girls from the other schools.

This just made me realize, yet again, how grateful I am to be a part of this gospel.  I am extremely grateful for our high standards, and especially those of modesty.
I had always heard that we, as latter-day saints, are different, different from the world.  But until I had this experience, I had no idea how different.  And yet it makes me even more willing and proud to be different, because we are blessed with a light, the Light of Christ that only comes from this gospel.

"If you want to make a difference in the world, you must BE different from the world."
- Elaine S. Dalton -

Dare to be different!! :)

Thanks for reading!
Brianna :)

Choir Tour (Day 3)

FRIDAY, APRIL 19th

After getting up and getting dressed in our choir uniforms, we hopped on the buses to drive to the Hylton Performing Arts Center for our choir festival.

Our choir, A Capella, was the first to warm-up and perform.  An adjudicator worked with us for a little bit, giving us some instruction.
